  • What is your impression of the work?
    • Rist clearly thinks of everything when it comes to her exhibits. I feel that when going to an exhibit, artists most worry about their art that is on the wall. There is nothing worse than seeing beautiful art, as you sit on an uncomfortable chair. I think it is most striking that Rist takes the time to worry about how it might feel to see her art on the ground, sitting down, feeling the material underneath you, as you experience the art. I find this intentional part of her work to make the work even more stunning itself. The use of projection is especially beautiful too as it can make you see yourself in the art. Clearly she is aware of the detail that make the whole.
  • How might we relate her video work to painting and other media such as fashion and decorative art?
    • Rist's video work can easily be transcribed to other media. Her work seems malleable and accessible in all areas. Taking a look at her portfolio and video work, the pictures OF the work look just as good AS the work! I think that she keeps this flowing line of continuity throughout her work so it is easy to relate all of her work. They seem to fit together very well and she has a beautiful and unique vision.
