Meow Wolf
MeowWolf is a pretty interesting story of artists rising up and creating a collective that can both benefit those founding artists, new artists, and the general public by enriching their lives too with art they might have never been exposed to. I think the thought process of those founding artists, by literally using trash to create spaces for them, for others that also feel that they do not belong. Space-making and placemaking it vital to the development of our society so it is really beautiful to see such a success story for these artists who wanted to make a place for people like themselves, and even better, drawing in crowds that can change perspectives. I think what is the most important about Meow Wolf is that it has commercialized and shown people who might have never seen immersive art before. I also appreciate who willing and wanting Meow Wolf is for new artists for their intilations, that is truly their ethos and is helping up and coming artists and helping Meow Wolf by outsourcing and literally going by their word in making more room for new, like they had to for themselves. Really so great that Meow Wolf is making more and more locations for more and more exposure. Also I found it so awesome how they had to plead to George R.R. Martin to fund them. That is great that someone who is a creative themself, can then give back to a creative collective. The House of Eternal Return is absolutely astounding and I really like that they centered about the idea of things we open (fridge doors, mirrors, cabinets) as entering a new space, a new realm. Such a cool take and in the House of Eternal Returning and interesting for a person to experience.
