Worlding Worlds
Worlding is an utterly mind-blowing concept with absolute beautiful artists that make me think like I have never thought before. Listening to each artists speak about their creations was serious mind bending in itself, and lent insight into amazing and inspiring creation.
- I think from the jump, worlding in itself is truly a monumental success by means of creation. I had never heard of this before this video, and I was in wonder in shock in the raw creation and artistry exhibited. Their thought processes in general to disseminate certain ideals was truly insane (can you tell how much I loved this??) My favorite concept discussed was easily Ainslee Alem Robson. Oh my god, that woman has such a beautiful idea of representing her childhood and how we can see ours. Not only as a woman who has grown up being in both Cleveland and Ethiopia, she strived to represent what "growing up" in her eyes looked like, felt like, sounded like. She asked the question; "What does home look like?". Though I was not in between two cultures, I was raised separately by two parents and her Exhibition made me think of some of the things that defined my identity growing up and how that portrays myself now. The experiences we have shape our experiences today. I think her exhibition can be a useful tool in everyone's personal identity. I was so blown away by how she talked about "how we remember". Memory is a funny thing, so it was so beautiful to see her work.

- Kordae Jatafa Henry's-Earth Mother Sky Father was so wonderfully eye opening and profound. I felt that his work was a totally new take in a way I personally had never considered. The thought behind his world of changing power structures was truly incredible and truthful. This thought and actual possibility for our current "world" is not a novice ideal, but rather a path towards equality that this world is crying out for. As Kordae states; we have the opportunity to totally reimage the world we live in today, we have the power to change it. Kordae talks about putting together two "radical" ideals- black mythology and technology. I feel these should not be "radical things to put together" but rather the step towards a new beginning. I truly feel that his storyline could be adapted to an amazing feature full length movie, and I feel his message needs to be more understood and seen by the public. I felt when he said "We can have new perceptions, what's happening today does not have to happen tomorrow" is very true in today's climate. We have the opportunity to transcend our own ideals and placemaking. It is easy to make more room for others.
- Ressuractions Lands Pro League is an inspiring and beautiful storyline. Danielle's work to archive trans identity, as it relates to today's world, is a job that is utterly needed and necessary. We cannot allow our ancestors, especially of groups that are othered, to be erased or forgotten. We must learn and revel in people with new identities so that we can better understand our world now, and our world tomorrow. Her mix with real exposure to Trans people in general, as well as tying in fiction and making a video game scape centered around this is remarkable. When she spoke on Trans appropriation, especially in the media or in things like video games, movies, etc, allowed me to step back and evaluate the appropriations I've seen and how that has shaped my understanding. Using appropriation in her exhibit shows the vast dehumaniations that Trans people go through in their depiction, and calls for better stories, better understanding, and truth to the world.
I think every single one of these artist show what our world is, and what our world can become. They shed light on things that call for change, and if it not for these artists, that light wouldn't be there in the first place. This online exhibit is so inspiring and gives me hope for a better world...or "world".
